The Full Story
Hey there! I'm Izzy, creator and founder of Brassica catering.
I grew up in a small city in northern Italy, in a place where two cultures meet. My passion for plant-based food was born at an early age as my mother emphasised the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. I watched her bake bread, make preserves and sauces that we would keep in our cellar for months and years to come. Our most common meal would be a spread of vegetables cooked in different ways. It comes as no surprise that, in my early twenties, I decided to make the switch to a fully plant-based diet. Although my mother planted the seed, it is this change that truly ignited my passion for cooking, and allowed me to find a tool for creative expression. After completing numerous cooking courses and working in restaurants and cafes, I had the opportunity to cook on a yoga retreat - and that is where it all truly came to life.
Today, I am passionate about sharing food that is delicious, good for the body, the mind, the environment and the animals, with no compromise on flavour. I draw inspiration from my travels and all the incredible people I have met along the way.
Sustainability and nutrition are at the heart of my cooking, and while I often incorporate meals and ingredients that are close to my roots, I strive to stay at the forefront of plant-based innovation.
